What Happens When You Live an IKIGAIful Life!
I have achieved 80% IKIGAIful Life.
When I was living an unfulfilling life, I often compared myself with other human beings. It varied from Steve Jobs to a security guard in my apartment. I tried to find some traits or activities that matched with me, hoping to predict my future life.
After reading the book “IKIGAI” in 2021, I realised what life is all about. It’s about living what I fondly call -
IKIGAIful Life!
There is no dictionary meaning of this term, but if you have read the book, you can understand the emotion behind this word. If not, I will briefly explain what IKIGAI is.
“IKIGAI” is a Japanese concept that combines two words: “IKI,” meaning life, and “GAI,” meaning worth. It is often translated as “a reason for being” or “a reason to wake up in the morning.” The concept suggests that the intersection of four elements brings fulfilment and meaning to one’s life:
- What you love (your passion): Doing things that you genuinely enjoy and love.
- What you are good at (your vocation): Engaging in activities or tasks where your skills and talents shine.
- What the world needs (your mission): Contributing to something that is beneficial to others or the world at large.
