The famous astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson told in one a famous podcast when asked why he doesn't use case on his iPhone? (he had iPhone X, back in 2018). He answered like this -

"US Military is trained to twirl and play with their weapons so that they don't let them fall in war. Because if it fells, they're gone. So, they practice as a drill to get known with every angle and uncomfortable positions of their weapon."

Now, what is weapon to a military is now what a phone to us, as you also said - it is a mini computer, and if it fells, you are in trouble.

Hence, solution is not to put an ugly cheap case on your mini computer which happens to be state of art design as well.

The solution is to twirl, practice in safer environment and get use to every dimension and use this mini computer which also happens to be the state of art.
