M4 MacBook Air Review: The Mac That Made Me Question My iPad Loyalty
I’ve used an iPad as my primary device for years — can this MacBook finally replace it?
Non-members can read it here.

A few days ago, I told my readers that I ordered the M4 MacBook Air, which has 512GB storage, 16GB RAM, a 10-core CPU, and a 10-core GPU in Midnight color.
What stirred the pot was my declaration: as an iPad lover who has used it as my primary computer for over five years, this MacBook would replace it.
Many responded to that article, asking me to drop a review of the M4 MacBook Air from the perspective of someone who has been using the M4 iPad Pro as their primary device.
You can read that backstory here.
Today, I will share my experience with the M4 MacBook Air 13-inch. And no, this is not my first MacBook. I have used:
- Intel MacBook Pro (Early, 2015)
- Intel MacBook Pro (2017)
- M1 MacBook Pro (2020)
- M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16-inch (2021) — This one is still with me.
- M2 Pro MacBook Pro 14-inch
This is my sixth MacBook, but for the first time, I haven’t opted for a Pro model.
Let’s dive deep.
Price: Rethinking My Past Purchases
I never believed that price or budget should be the primary deciding factor when purchasing a tech device. Money is a tool, and like any tool, its value depends on how you use it.
The real question is — what do you need?
Frankly, after this MacBook, I felt, I overkilled my past choices by buying M-series Pro MacBooks.
I got this one for INR 1,03,000 (~$1,200), which is a bargain compared to my previous MacBooks. This is, by far, the cheapest MacBook I have ever purchased.
