Do you ever find yourself constantly distracted when you’re trying to get work done? The urge to scroll through social media, check emails, or Google random questions can be overwhelming, and before you know it, precious time slips away.

I can totally relate! I, too, was struggling to find deep focus in my work until I stumbled upon the works of Carl Newport. His books and podcasts opened my eyes to the importance of deep, focused work.

But here’s the good news: there’s a simple and effective solution to tackle these distractions — the Pomodoro Technique!

What is Pomodoro technique?

The Pomodoro Technique, created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s, is a simple and effective time management method. “Pomodoro” means “tomato” in Italian, inspired by the tomato-shaped kitchen timer Cirillo used during university.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Choose a Task: Select a specific task or project to work on.
  2. Set the Timer: Set a timer for 25 minutes, known as a “Pomodoro.” During this time, focus solely on the chosen task, avoiding all distractions.
